Atmospheric pressure is affected by three main factors: altitude (higher altitude = lower pressure), temperature (higher temperature = lower pressure), and humidity (more humidity = lower pressure). Wind direction and ocean currents are effects of pressure differences, not causes.

South-West Monsoon, North-East Monsoon

Monsoon winds are seasonal winds that change direction with seasons. South-West Monsoons bring summer rains (June-September), while North-East Monsoons bring winter rains (October-December) to parts of India.

Day time

Sea breeze blows during day time from sea to land because land heats up faster than sea, creating low pressure over land and high pressure over sea. This causes air to move from sea to land.

Snow-eater winds

Chinook winds are warm, dry winds that blow down the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains in North America. They can raise temperature by 15-25°C and melt snow rapidly, hence called 'snow-eater' winds by Red Indians.
