What is force?
Answer
Force is a push or pull acting on an object. It can change the state of motion or shape of the object. Example: Pushing a door to open it.
Give two examples of force as a push.

How does force change the shape of an object? Give an example.
Answer
When force is applied without changing the position, it can deform the object. Example: Squeezing a sponge changes its shape.
Can force change the mass of an object?
Answer
No, force cannot change the mass of an object. Mass remains constant even when force is applied.
What are the effects of force on a body?
Answer
1. Can move a stationary object. 2. Can stop a moving object. 3. Can increase or decrease speed. 4. Can change direction. 5. Can change shape or size.

The force of friction between the ball and the ground opposes motion and slows it down until it stops.
