  • Allergic reactions may affect the nose, eyes, skin, lungs, digestive system, and blood circulation.
  • Inhaled allergens can cause irritation of the nose, sneezing, coughing, wheezing, red and watery eyes, mucus in the lungs, and shortness of breath.
  • Food allergy can cause abdominal pain, bloating, vomiting, diarrhoea, itchy skin, and swelling of the skin.

4. Diagnosis of Allergy

  • Allergy testing helps confirm or rule out allergies.
  • Two equally valid methods are used for diagnosis: skin prick test and allergy blood test.
  • Skin prick test is also called puncture testing or prick testing.
