World Health Organization

WHO stands for World Health Organization, which was established in 1948 to protect and improve human health worldwide. It works to eradicate diseases like malaria, cholera, and has successfully eliminated smallpox globally. WHO also fights against AIDS, cancer, and recently coordinated global response to COVID-19. The other options are not real organizations. WHO's headquarters is in Geneva, Switzerland, and it plays a crucial role in global health policy and disease prevention.

SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) was established in 1985. It consists of 8 South Asian countries including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives, and Afghanistan. The organization aims to promote economic growth, social progress, and cultural development through mutual cooperation. Its headquarters is in Kathmandu, Nepal. India plays a vital role in SAARC's functioning, though the organization faces challenges due to political disputes among member nations.

The Hague, Netherlands

The International Court of Justice is located in The Hague, Netherlands. It is the principal judicial organ of the UN, consisting of 15 judges elected for 9-year terms. The court handles international disputes and provides advisory opinions on legal questions. Geneva hosts many UN agencies but not the ICJ. New York has the main UN headquarters, and Vienna has some UN offices, but the ICJ specifically operates from The Hague, which is known as the international city of peace and justice.

There are currently 193 member countries in the United Nations. The UN started with 51 founding members in 1945 and has grown as more countries gained independence and joined. India was one of the founding members. Membership is open to all peace-loving countries that accept the obligations of the UN Charter. The most recent member to join was South Sudan in 2011. The numbers 190, 195, and 200 are close but incorrect - 193 is the exact current membership count.
