2(i)River Basin and WatershedShow solution
A river basin is the area drained by a river and its tributaries. It is usually large in extent. A watershed is the boundary line separating one drainage basin from another, and the term is also used for a small drainage area. Thus, basins are larger areas, while watersheds are smaller in area.

Dendritic drainage pattern looks like the branches of a tree; it is common in the rivers of the Northern Plains. Trellis drainage pattern has primary tributaries flowing parallel to each other, and secondary tributaries joining at right angles. So, dendritic is tree-like, while trellis is like a ladder or grid.
