1. Counting and Grouping Patterns

  • Gundappa plucked 5 coconuts from each tree, so the total depends on the number of trees.
  • Muniamma arranged coconut laddoos and milk peda in trays with the same arrangement in each tray.
  • Trays are placed one on top of the other, so equal groups can be counted together.

2. Even and Odd Numbers

  • Shiv has arranged his numbers in pairs. Such numbers are called even numbers.
  • Shirley's numbers are called odd numbers.
  • The numbers immediately before and after an odd number are both even.

3. Patterns in Numbers and Page Numbers

  • Shirley observed an even-odd pattern in the page numbers of her Maths book.
  • Students are asked to explore the textbook pages and mark even numbers with a square and odd numbers with a circle.
  • The pattern continues in consecutive numbers.

4. Two-Digit Numbers and Digit Patterns

  • Students are asked to make two 2-digit numbers using the digits 1 and 6 without repetition.
  • Students are asked to choose any two digits and make 2-digit numbers such that the numbers are even.
  • To make a 2-digit number, the tens digit and ones digit must be chosen carefully.
