  • Clinical thermometers are used to measure human body temperature.
  • Digital clinical thermometers show temperature digitally and run on batteries.

  • The Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin scales are the main temperature scales.
  • The unit of temperature on the Celsius scale is degree Celsius.

  • A laboratory thermometer is used for purposes other than body temperature.
  • It consists of a long, narrow, uniform sealed glass tube with a liquid-filled bulb at one end.
