Common Mistakes to Avoid

Difference is the same as subtraction of the smaller number from the larger number, so the answer is always positive.

A negative number always means a smaller answer, so any subtraction or multiplication with negatives must give a smaller magnitude.

When adding integers on a number line, every movement is always positive if it moves to the right in the picture, even if the sign says negative.
