1. Integers on a Number Line

P = a + b

2. Multiplication of Integers

4 × (-2) = -8

(-4) × 2 = -8

(-4) × (-2) = 8

1 × a = a

-1 × a = -a

3. Division of Integers

a ÷ -b = -(a ÷ b)

-a ÷ b = -(a ÷ b)

-a ÷ -b = a ÷ b

4. Patterns, Signs, and Properties

-1 multiplied 2 or 4 times → Positive product

-1 multiplied 3 or 5 times → Negative product

Integer Basics and Sum-Difference Puzzles

If the sum is 25 and the difference is 11, the numbers are 18 and 7 because 18 + 7 = 25 and 18 - 7 = 11.

If the sum is 25 and the difference is -11, the numbers are 7 and 18 because 7 + 18 = 25 and 7 - 18 = -11.

Subtraction of Integers and Additive Inverse

7 - 18 = -11 using tokens with zero pairs.

Key relations

Order matters, so 18 - 7 = 11 but 7 - 18 = -11.
