Units of Time and Conversions

  • Time is measured in seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years.
  • 1 minute = 60 seconds
  • 1 hour = 60 minutes

12-Hour and 24-Hour Clock

  • a.m. means from 12 midnight to 12 noon.
  • p.m. means from 12 noon to 12 midnight.
  • 12 midnight = 00:00 hours, 12 noon = 12:00 hours

Addition and Subtraction of Time

  • Add or subtract hours, minutes, and seconds separately.
  • If seconds exceed 60, convert 60 seconds to 1 minute.
  • If minutes exceed 60, convert 60 minutes to 1 hour.
