- The circulatory system transports blood throughout the body.

- The heart is a muscular organ that pumps blood continuously.

- Arteries carry blood away from the heart; most carry oxygen-rich blood.

- Blood is a red fluid made up of plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.
- Red blood cells carry oxygen using haemoglobin (red pigment).
- White blood cells fight germs and protect the body from diseases.
