Plant Tissues

  • Plant tissues are of two main types: meristematic tissue and permanent tissue.
  • Meristematic tissue is made of actively dividing cells. Its only function is to produce more cells and help in plant growth.

  • Animal tissues are classified into four major groups: epithelial, connective, muscular, and nervous tissue.
  • Epithelial tissue forms a thin protective layer of cells. It covers the body surface and lines body cavities and organs.
