1. Coordination and Nervous System
- Coordination means the interlinking of body activities according to the needs of the body.
- There are two types of coordination: nervous coordination and chemical coordination.

2. Neuron: Structural and Functional Unit
- A neuron is the structural and functional unit of the nervous system.
- A neuron has two main parts: cyton and axon.
- Cyton is the main cell body and contains the nucleus.

3. Types of Nerves
- A nerve is formed of a bundle of axons enclosed in a tubular medullary sheath.
- The medullary sheath acts as insulation and prevents mixing of impulses in adjacent fibres.
- There are three kinds of nerves: sensory nerve, motor nerve, and mixed nerve.

- The human nervous system has two main divisions: central nervous system and peripheral nervous system.
- The central nervous system consists of the brain and spinal cord.
- The brain is protected within the skull.
