  • The infinitive is also referred to as the to-verb.

  • The infinitive without to is called a bare infinitive.
  • Bare infinitives are used after let, make, bid, dare, and need.
  • Bare infinitives are also used after verbs of perception: see, hear, watch, know, feel.

  • Present participle examples are writing, fading, selecting.
  • Past participle examples are written, faded, selected.
