  • Bengal, Bihar, and Orissa were prosperous, while the Mughal Empire in Delhi was declining.
  • Bengal became independent under Murshid Quli Khan.
  • Ali Vardi Khan was succeeded by his grandson Siraj-ud-Daulah in 1756.
