इन दोनों कथनों में विरोधाभास है, पर आशय एक ही है। कवि समाज और जीवन के संपर्क में रहते हुए भी उसके प्रति पूरी तरह आसक्त नहीं है। वह संसार का बोझ, दुख और अनुभव अपने साथ लिए चलता है, लेकिन अपने मन की स्वतंत्रता, निजी स्वप्न और आत्मानुभूति को भी बनाए रखता है। इसलिए वह जग-जीवन में रहते हुए भी भीतर से अपने ढंग से जीता है।

2जहाँ पर दाना रहते हैं, वहीं नादान भी होते हैं— कवि ने ऐसा क्यों कहा होगा?Show solution
कवि यह बताना चाहता है कि संसार में ज्ञान और अज्ञान, समझदार और नादान दोनों साथ-साथ रहते हैं। जहाँ दानेदार, अनुभवी, समझदार लोग होते हैं, वहीं उनके बीच या आसपास कम समझ वाले लोग भी मिल जाते हैं। इससे यह भी व्यंग्य झलकता है कि मनुष्य सीखते हुए भी पूरी तरह दाना नहीं बन पाता।

3मैं और, और जग और कहाँ का नाता— पंक्ति में और शब्द की विशेषता बताइए।Show solution
यहाँ “और” शब्द की विशेषता/अर्थ-भेद ध्यान देने योग्य है। पहले “और” का अर्थ “अलग” या “भिन्न” है—अर्थात *मैं अलग हूँ, जग अलग है*। दूसरे “और” का अर्थ “भी” या “अतिरिक्त” नहीं, बल्कि उसी भिन्नता को और अधिक उभारने वाला प्रयोग है। पंक्ति में यह शब्द विरोध और दूरी का भाव प्रकट करता है।
