  • Common factors are numbers that divide both numbers exactly.

  • 1 is neither prime nor composite.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Any two numbers with no common factor in one chosen factorisation are co-prime.

If two numbers share one prime factor, then the smaller number always divides the larger number.

All even numbers are composite, so 2 is also composite.
