Given: We need to define the geographical term 'Island'.

Answer:
An island is a landmass that is completely surrounded by water (sea or ocean) on all sides, but is not large enough to be called a continent. Islands can be found in oceans, seas, lakes, or rivers.

Examples:
- Greenland — the largest island on Earth
- Andaman and Nicobar Islands — islands belonging to India
- Sri Lanka — an island nation near India

Islands differ from continents mainly in their size; continents are much larger landmasses.
