Formulas

1. Perpendicular Bisector and Symmetry

AX = AY = BX = BY

∠AOX + ∠AOY = 180°, thus ∠AOX = ∠AOY = 90°

2. Constructing a 90° Angle and a 45° Angle

∠AOX + ∠AOY = 180°, thus ∠AOX = ∠AOY = 90°

360° ÷ 8 = 45°

3. Angle Bisection, Copying Angles, and Parallel Lines

If A and B are marked such that OA = OB, and if C is chosen such that BC = AC, then by the SSS congruence condition, ΔOBC ≅ ΔOAC.

By the SSS congruence condition, triangle ABC congruent triangle XYZ. So, angle A = angle X.
