  • The word quadrilateral comes from Latin: quadri means four and latus means sides.
  • A quadrilateral has four sides and four angles.
  • The angles of a quadrilateral are the angles between its sides.

  • A rectangle is a quadrilateral in which all angles are 90°.
  • A rectangle also has opposite sides equal.
  • The opposite sides of a rectangle are parallel.
