1. Economic Problem and Its Causes

  • An economic problem generally means the problem of making choices that occurs because of the scarcity of resources.

3. Efficient Use of Resources

  • Resources can be utilised efficiently only when there is no waste and no idle use of resources.
  • Production is said to be efficient, if it is not possible to produce more of one good without reducing the output of any other good in the economy.
  • Distribution is efficient, if it is not possible to make anyone person or persons better off without making any other person or persons worse off through any redistribution of goods.

4. Production Possibility Curve: Meaning, Assumptions and Features

  • Production possibility curve is a curve which shows all possible combinations of two goods that can be produced by making full use of given resources and technology in an economy.
  • It measures the maximum output of two goods using a fixed amount of resources.
  • PPC is also called Production Possibilities Frontier, Production Possibilities Boundary and Transformation Curve.
