1. Simplification Using Brackets and BODMAS

  • Always follow the BODMAS rule when simplifying expressions.
  • Brackets are solved in the order: Bar (—), Parentheses ( ), Curly { }, Square [ ].
  • Operations inside brackets are performed first.

2. Even and Odd Numbers

  • Even numbers are divisible by 2 (e.g., 2, 4, 6, 8...).
  • Odd numbers are not divisible by 2 (e.g., 1, 3, 5, 7...).
  • Sum of two even numbers is always even.

3. Factors and Multiples

  • A factor divides a number completely without remainder.
  • Every number is a factor of itself and 1 is a factor of every number.
  • Multiples are obtained by multiplying a number by natural numbers.

4. H.C.F. and L.C.M.

  • H.C.F. is the largest number that divides given numbers completely.
  • L.C.M. is the smallest number divisible by all given numbers.
  • Three methods to find H.C.F.: Common Factor, Prime Factor, Division.
