Number of subsets = 2^n

Cardinal Number

n(A) = number of elements in A

n(A ∪ B) = n(A) + n(B) - n(A ∩ B)

Cardinal Number and Types of Sets

If a set A has 5 elements, then n(A) = 5.

If B = {0}, then n(B) = 1 because 0 is an element of the set.

n(A) = 5 if a set A has 5 elements.
