Types of Diseases

  • Diseases are mainly of two types: communicable and non-communicable.

Spread of Communicable Diseases

  • Communicable diseases spread by direct contact and indirect methods.

  • Influenza causes cold, fever, and chills, and spreads through droplet infection.
  • Measles is a highly contagious viral infection with nasal discharge, redness of eyes, coughing, fever, and red papules.
  • AIDS is caused by HIV, which weakens the immunity or self-defence mechanism of the human body.
