Prepositions of Time

  • At is used for a point of time, festivals, mealtimes, and indefinite periods: at 5 o'clock, at noon, at midnight, at Christmas, at Diwali, at lunch, at dinner, at dawn, at night.
  • On is used for days, dates, and day plus part of the day: on Friday, on Sunday, on the 17th of March, on Friday morning, on Saturday night.
  • In is used for seasons, years, months, and parts of the day: in spring, in 2019, in March, in the morning.
