  • It follows a north-westerly course through Tibet.
  • It enters Indian territory in Jammu and Kashmir.

  • The Ganga has twin sources: the Bhagirathi from the Gangotri glacier and the Alakananda from the Satopanth glacier near Badrinath.
  • The Bhagirathi and Alakananda join at Devprayag to form the Ganga.
  • The Ganga emerges from the hills at Haridwar.
