1. Stone Statues
- Two important male stone figures are the bust of a bearded man in soapstone and the male torso in red sandstone.
- The bearded man is interpreted as a priest and is draped in a shawl coming under the right arm and covering the left shoulder.
- The shawl is decorated with trefoil patterns.
2. Bronze Casting
- Bronze statues were made using the lost wax technique.
- In this method, wax figures were first covered with clay and allowed to dry.
- The wax was then heated and drained out through a tiny hole.
3. Terracotta Figures
- Terracotta human figures are generally crude in the Indus Valley.
- They are more realistic in Gujarat sites and Kalibangan.
- The mother goddess figures are among the most important terracotta figures.
4. Seals and Copper Tablets
- Thousands of seals were discovered, mostly made of steatite, and also of agate, chert, copper, faience, terracotta, and some ivory.
- The standard Harappan seal was a square plaque of 2×2 square inches made from steatite.
- The purpose of producing seals was mainly commercial.
