It is Fun

This is a listening and speaking activity. Your teacher will play sounds of animals such as the croaking of a frog, cackling of a hen, quack of a duck, and bleat of a sheep. Listen carefully and try to name the animal that makes each sound.

Examples:
- Croaking sound → Frog
- Cackling sound → Hen
- Quacking sound → Duck
- Bleating sound → Sheep

This is an oral speaking activity. Students should use their imagination and speak in complete sentences. Sample answers are given below:

Child 1: I would say, 'Hello, big elephant! You are very strong!'
Child 2: I would say, 'Please do not step on me, dear elephant!'
Child 3: I would say, 'You have a very long trunk. Can I touch it?'

(Students may give their own creative answers. The important thing is to speak in a full sentence beginning with 'I would say...')

Using the given action words, here are sentences:

1. climb — Monkeys climb trees. (given example)
2. leap — Frogs leap over the pond.
3. swim — Fish swim in the river.
4. trot — Horses trot on the road.
5. fly — Birds fly in the sky.

Students should think of an action they can do that is similar to an animal or bird. Sample answers:

- I can swim like a fish.
- I can run like a horse.
- I can jump like a frog.
- I can fly (in my dreams) like a bird.

(Write any one sentence that is true for you.)

Two animals or birds (other than fish) that can swim:

(Other acceptable answers: Dog, Elephant, Swan, Penguin)
