Discuss – Question 1 (Communities coming together)It is important for communities to come together in times of need. What do you think about this statement?Show solution
I completely agree with this statement. When people in a community come together in times of need, they can solve problems that no single person can solve alone.

- During floods or natural disasters, neighbours help each other with food, shelter and rescue.
- During festivals or community events, people share work and celebrate together, which strengthens bonds.
- When a park needs to be built or a road needs repair, collective effort makes the task faster and easier.

Just like the ants in a colony and bees in a hive, every person has a role to play. When everyone contributes, the whole community becomes stronger, happier and safer. Working together also builds trust, friendship and a sense of belonging.

Discuss – Question 2 (People in locality supporting each other)Do people in your locality come together and support each other? Can you remember one such occasion?Show solution
Yes, people in our locality do come together and support each other.

One such occasion: During a heavy rainstorm last year, a tree fell and blocked the main road of our neighbourhood. All the residents — men, women and even older children — came out together. Some brought ropes and tools, others directed traffic, and a few called the municipal office. Within a few hours, the road was cleared.

This showed that when there is a problem, people do not wait for someone else to solve it. They take responsibility and act together. Such moments bring the community closer and remind us that we are stronger together than alone.

Write – Festival/Occasion TeamworkThink about your family or community. How do you work together to help each other while preparing for a festival or any other occasion?Show solution
During festivals like Diwali or Eid, our family and community work together in many wonderful ways:

- Cleaning and decorating: Everyone helps clean the house and neighbourhood. Children make rangoli or hang lights.
- Cooking: Family members divide cooking tasks — someone makes sweets, someone prepares savoury snacks, and others cook the main meal.
- Shopping: Elders go to the market to buy ingredients, clothes and decorations, while children help carry bags.
- Welcoming guests: Children greet guests and serve them food and drinks.
- Sharing: Neighbours exchange sweets and gifts, strengthening bonds.

Working together during festivals makes the occasion more joyful and teaches us the values of sharing, cooperation and togetherness.
