3. Omission of the Multiplication Symbol
- In algebra, multiplication signs are often omitted.
- The number is written first, followed by the letter.
- Writing 4×n is shortened to 4n.
4. Simplifying Perimeter Expressions
- The perimeter of a rectangle can be written using l and b.
- l stands for length, b stands for breadth, and p stands for perimeter.
- The initial perimeter expression and the simplified form are equal in value, though they look different.
