  • The HCF of two or more numbers is the greatest common factor.
  • For the room of 12 ft by 16 ft, the square tile size is 4 ft because 4 is the HCF of 12 and 16.

2. Prime Factorisation and the Division Method

  • A prime is a number greater than 1 that has only 1 and the number itself as its factors.
  • The prime factorisation of a prime number is the prime number itself.
  • Prime factorisation means writing a number as a product of primes.

  • The LCM of two or more given numbers is the lowest, smallest, or least of their common multiples.
  • For 6 cm and 8 cm strips, the shortest common toran length is 24 cm.
  • Kabamai gets free gajak again after 70 days because 70 is the LCM of 7 and 10.
