Common Mistakes to Avoid

Cu(OH)2 and Pb(OH)2 behave the same way in excess ammonium hydroxide and excess sodium hydroxide.

Zn(OH)2 dissolves in excess ammonium hydroxide only, not in excess sodium hydroxide.

Ca(NO3)2 and NH4OH always give a precipitate of Ca(OH)2 because calcium salts are colourless.
