  • Internal division means the point lies between A and B.
  • Section formula is used for ratio m:n.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

The formula for internal division is x = (mx1 + nx2)/(m+n) and y = (my1 + ny2)/(m+n).

The midpoint formula is a separate formula that must be memorised independently, and it is not connected to the section formula.

Internal division and external division are the same thing, so the same formula can be used in both cases.
