Reading Time on a Clock
- A clock has two hands: the short hand is the hour hand, and the long hand is the minute hand.
- When the minute hand is at 12, it is 'o'clock'.
- When the minute hand is at 6, it is 'half past' the hour.
a.m. and p.m.
- a.m. means from 12 midnight to 12 noon (morning time).
- p.m. means from 12 noon to 12 midnight (afternoon and night time).
- 8 a.m. is 8 in the morning, while 8 p.m. is 8 in the evening.
24-Hour Clock
- The 24-hour clock counts from 00:00 (midnight) to 23:59.
- From 1 p.m. to 11 p.m., add 12 to the 12-hour time to get 24-hour time.
- a.m. times from 1 to 11 remain the same in 24-hour format (e.g., 7 a.m. = 07:00).
Converting Units of Time
- 1 day = 24 hours
- 1 hour = 60 minutes
- 1 week = 7 days
