  • Metre (m) is the standard unit of length.

  • Multiply by 1000 to convert km to m.

  • Add centimetres first, then metres.

1 metre equals 10 centimetres.

When adding lengths, you can add metres and centimetres separately without converting.

Kilometre is smaller than metre because 'kilo' sounds like 'centi'.
