  • Decimal fractions have denominators like 10, 100, 1000, etc.
  • The decimal point separates the whole number and fractional parts.
  • Fractions with non-power-of-10 denominators can be converted by adjusting the denominator.
  • Count digits after the decimal point to find decimal places.
  • Always write a zero before the decimal point if there's no whole number part.
  • Like decimals have equal decimal places.
  • Zeros can be added at the end of a decimal to make it like another.

More digits after the decimal means a larger number.

When converting fractions to decimals, you can just write the numerator with a decimal point.

Adding extra zeros at the end of a decimal changes its value.
