5 years

The normal term of office for a Legislative Assembly is 5 years. However, the Assembly may be dissolved by the Governor before the expiry of the full term on the recommendation of the Cabinet headed by the Chief Minister. 6 years is the term for Legislative Council members, while 4 and 3 years are not standard terms for any legislative body in India.

Governor

The Governor is the constitutional head of the state. Though the Governor is the constitutional head, the Council of Ministers with the Chief Minister as its head is the real executive authority. The Chief Minister is the head of government but not the constitutional head. The Speaker heads the Legislative Assembly, and the President is the constitutional head of the country, not the state.

President of India

The President of India appoints the Governor on the recommendation of the Prime Minister and his Cabinet. While the Prime Minister makes the recommendation, the actual appointment is done by the President. The Chief Minister and Speaker have no role in the appointment of the Governor.

35 years

The minimum age requirement to become a Governor is 35 years. This is higher than the age requirements for Legislative Assembly (25 years) and Legislative Council (30 years) members, reflecting the senior constitutional position of the Governor. Options B and C are age requirements for other positions, while option D is not a constitutional requirement.
