3. Relationship between addition and subtraction

  • Addition and subtraction are related operations.
  • If 46 + 21 = 67, then 67 - 21 = 46 and 67 - 46 = 21.
  • If 198 - 98 = 100, then 100 + 98 = 198 and 198 - 100 = 98.

4. Consecutive numbers and their sums

  • Numbers that follow one another in order without skipping any number are called consecutive numbers.
  • Examples include 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 29, 30, 31, 32.
  • The sum of consecutive numbers shows patterns.
