  • Division means splitting a number into equal parts.
  • The number being divided is called the dividend.
  • The number we divide by is called the divisor.

Division by 10, 100, and 1000

  • When dividing by 10, the last digit becomes the remainder, and the rest is the quotient.
  • When dividing by 100, the last two digits become the remainder.
  • When dividing by 1000, the last three digits become the remainder.
