What is an interrogative sentence?

Answer

An interrogative sentence is a sentence that asks a question. It always ends with a question mark (?). For example: 'Are you happy?' or 'Where do you live?'

You can identify an interrogative sentence by two things: 1) It asks a question, and 2) It ends with a question mark (?). For example: 'Did she go to school?' is a question and has a '?' at the end.

Answer

When the verb is 'be' (am, is, are, was, were), we move it to the beginning of the sentence. For example: 'I am tired' becomes 'Am I tired?' and 'They were late' becomes 'Were they late?'
