  • A climatic region is an area with broadly similar climatic conditions.
  • Climatic boundaries are always transitional, not fixed.

  • Also called Tropical Wet Climate or Tropical Rainforest Climate.
  • Found along the Equator from 5°N to 5°S.

  • Most hot deserts lie within 15°N to 30°N and south, on western continental margins under the permanent trade wind belt.
  • The Sahara desert is the only exception to this rule.
  • The highest diurnal temperature range among climatic types is found here, with a highest recorded value of 41.7°C.
