पूर्वपद-उत्तरपद-प्रातिपदिकरूपम्

  • समासे पूर्वपदम् उत्तरपदम् इति द्विविधं भवति।
  • पूर्वं प्रयुक्तं पदं पूर्वपदम्, अनन्तरं प्रयुक्तं पदं उत्तरपदम्।
  • समासे कृते पूर्वपदम् उत्तरपदं च प्रातिपदिकरूपेण स्थितं भवति।

विग्रहवाक्यम् तथा तस्य द्वैविध्यम्

  • वृत्त्यर्थस्य अवबोधकं वाक्यं विग्रहः।
  • समासस्य अर्थं स्पष्टयितुं यत् वाक्यं प्रयुज्यते तत् विग्रहवाक्यम्।
  • स्वपदविग्रहः समासघटकपदैः एव भवति।

  • समासः मुख्यतः द्विविधः— केवलसमासः, विशेषसमासः।
  • केवलसमासः तत्पुरुषादिसंज्ञाभिः विनिर्मुक्तः समाससंज्ञामात्रयुक्तः समासः।
  • विशेषसमासः चतुर्धा— तत्पुरुषसमासः, द्वन्द्वसमासः, बहुव्रीहिसमासः, अव्ययीभावसमासः।
