5.3 Types of Training
- 1. Induction/Orientation Training: Introduces new employees to the organisation, its policies, rules, and procedures.

- In small organisations, orientation may be informal; in large firms, a formal programme is organised.
5.4 Methods and Techniques of Training
- Training methods are classified into two main categories: On-the-Job Training and Off-the-Job Training.
- ON-THE-JOB TRAINING: Trainee is placed on a regular job and taught the skills necessary to perform it.
- On-the-job training is also called 'learning by doing'.
