Air Pollution

  • Oxygen is the most important component of air.
  • Human beings and animals breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide.
  • Plants take in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen during the day.

Water Pollution

  • Safe drinking water has no taste, smell, colour, dirt, or germs.
  • Polluted water may be coloured, may have suspended particles, a foul smell, and a bad taste.
  • Domestic wastes, industrial wastes, agricultural wastes, and oil spills are sources of water pollution.

Soil Pollution and Waste Disposal

  • Soil pollution is a change in the physical, chemical, and biological nature of soil harmful to humans and other living beings.
  • Some chemicals can make soil totally infertile.
  • Excess insecticides, pesticides, and fertilizers can enter plants, fruits, and vegetables and then reach the human digestive system, causing sickness.
