1. Magnetic Effect of Electric Current

  • When electric current flows through a conductor, it produces a magnetic field around it.
  • This is called the magnetic effect of electric current.
  • The magnetic field disappears when the current stops flowing.

  • When electric current flows through a conductor, it faces resistance.
  • Because of resistance, electrical energy changes into heat energy.
  • This warming is called the heating effect of electric current.

  • A Voltaic cell is also known as a Galvanic cell.
  • A Voltaic cell contains two metal rods made of different materials and an electrolyte in a container.
