Article 21A

Article 21A of the Indian Constitution makes education a Fundamental Right. It mandates free and compulsory education for children between 6 and 14 years of age. This constitutional provision was added to ensure that every child has access to quality education regardless of their economic or social background. The Right to Education Act 2009 (RTE) further strengthened this guarantee by providing detailed guidelines for implementation.

Inducement to do wrong by bribery or unlawful means

Corruption is defined as an inducement to do wrong by bribery or other unlawful means. It involves going away from what is right and legally correct. Corruption refers to improper and selfish exercise of power and influence for personal profit, setting aside all rules and regulations. It includes abuse of power for personal gains and is spreading like an epidemic in public life, affecting administration and society negatively.

Lokpal

Lokpal has been established at the national level to control corruption, while Lokayukta institutions have been established in the states. Lokpal is an anti-corruption ombudsman that investigates allegations of corruption against public officials at the central level. The institution was created to provide an independent mechanism for addressing corruption complaints and ensuring accountability in governance. States have their own Lokayukta institutions for similar purposes at the state level.
