  • Weather means the condition of the Earth's atmosphere at a particular time and place.
  • The troposphere is the layer of atmosphere closest to Earth's surface, and weather happens there.
  • The troposphere extends to a height of 6 to 18 kilometres from the ground.

2. Measuring Temperature, Rainfall, Pressure, Wind, and Humidity

  • Temperature is measured using a thermometer.

  • Range of temperature means maximum temperature minus minimum temperature over a period, usually 24 hours.
