What is work in physics?

Answer

Work is done only when a body is displaced under the influence of an applied force. Formula: W = F·d Also, W = Fs cosθ Meaning: - F = force - d = displacement - θ = angle between force and displacem

Why is no work done when a man pushes a wall?

Answer

No work is done because there is no displacement of the wall. Reason: - Force acts - Displacement is zero - So, W = F × 0 = 0 J This is a common zero-work case.

Answer

The load moves horizontally, while gravity acts vertically downward. Angle between force and displacement = 90° So, W = Fs cos90° = 0 This is zero work due to perpendicular force and displacement.
