  • Even numbers are divisible by 2.
  • Odd numbers are not divisible by 2.
  • Examples: Even – 2, 4, 6, 8; Odd – 1, 3, 5, 7

  • A number is divisible by 3 if the sum of its digits is divisible by 3.
  • A number is divisible by 4 if the last two digits form a number divisible by 4.

  • Prime numbers have exactly two factors: 1 and the number itself.
  • Composite numbers have more than two factors.
  • 2 is the only even prime number.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

1 is a prime number because it has only one factor.

All odd numbers are prime numbers.

HCF is always smaller than LCM, so I can just pick the smaller number.
