  • A triangle has 3 sides, 3 angles, and 3 vertices.
  • The sum of the interior angles of a triangle is 180 degrees.
  • An exterior angle is formed when a side is extended.
  • Use 180 degrees for the sum of triangle angles.
  • Substitute the given values carefully into the equation.
  • Always check the final sum.
  • Acute angled triangle: all angles are less than 90 degrees.
  • Right angled triangle: one angle is 90 degrees.
  • Obtuse angled triangle: one angle is more than 90 degrees.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

A triangle can have angles 60°, 70°, and 70° because they look close to 180°.

The third angle of a triangle is found by subtracting the two given angles from 360°.

An exterior angle and its adjacent interior angle are equal.
